This is a brief summary of the activities that were carried out in our recent visit to the college.

As previously annouced, there were three planned activities during our visit. The first one was a meeting to provide general information regarding applications to UK universities. Approximately 25 students showed up to the School Building. The presentation included a general description of UCAS and references to top UK universities according to specialised rankings. Questions about likely fees and living expenses were commonly noted.

During the afternoon, the two remaining activities took place. Due to an unexpected event, the venue was changed to Foresteria Dayroom, where an estimate of 35 students gathered. We began with a presentation of UWCADES, its origins, objectives, the current organisation and our expectations for the future.

Immediately after the presentation, Yannis Arvanitis and Luis Alejos introduced the students to the topic "Is inequality always bad?". The argument presented exploited the difference between inequality and inequity, showing that inequality is needed to provide the incentives for a dynamic equilibrium to exist. Nonetheless, inequity is certainly a matter of concern. Finally, the concept of international understanding was presented as an important and necessary tool to distinguish between inequality and inequity, therefore helping to identify desirable social policies aimed at the reduction of inequity through equality of opportunities. The students reacted with critical points of view, making the discussions that surrounded the presentation of great interest for the public.

We are also grateful to all the students who showed interest in the society by attending the activities and in particular to the 12 students who have committed to organise UWCADES within the college network. We hope to maintain and reinforce this relationship in the future.
