During the two wonderful years that we spend at the UWC of the Adriatic, we have an enormous and unique opportunity to enlarge our perspectives in different aspects of life. The UWCAd Economics Society was created from the desire to maximise this privilege of having students from different countries and socio-economic systems.

The main objective of this group is to stimulate an atmosphere that gives an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas about economics and politics, in light of the UWC ideals of tolerance and international understanding. The society is currently run by ex-UWCAd students who are following a career in politics and/or economics, but it is open to anyone who wants to contribute to it. Furthermore, the UWCAd Economics Society serves as a forum which helps to deepen people's knowledge about world issues, and therefore it provides the basis of intellectual exchange, and through it, to increase international awareness and understanding from an economic point of view.

This project is trying to encourage people to be aware of the present social and economic realities coexisting in this world, hence enabling them to actively participate in the development of their societies. Currently, debates about relevant issues are taking place in our Forum.

In its final stage, the UWCAd Economics Society is intended to develop in such a way as to expand its frontiers to other UWC's, hoping that in the future there will be a wider network capable to maintain the contacts between the present members and former members in their post-college lives.
